Green Real Estate Development: Development of an Assessment Tool for Energy Efficiency and CO2 Emission in Residential Buildings

Energy usage and CO2 emission is amongst the topmost concerns to global leaders because of the impact it has on the world ecosystem. Therefore, efficient usage of energy and reduction of CO2 emission in buildings is an area that deserves keen interest. Standards and simple models have been developed in the most developed countries as a solution to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emission, whiles developing countries are yet to set standards. The purpose of my Thesis, consequently, is to propose a model that will be used to measure energy consumption and CO2 emission in residential buildings. The model will factor in the peculiar conditions in Ghanaian building and architectural culture.
